My Mission

“I am passionately committed to helping each of my clients take command of their anxiety and master their fears.”

My Practice

I am a clinical psychologist currently providing psychotherapy in Northern VA and metropolitan Washington D.C. Experienced in treating a wide range of clinical diagnoses, I have found that helping clients work through anxiety has resulted in a number of rewarding clinical experiences. I help clients implement effective techniques in order to achieve freedom from debilitating anxiety symptoms while experiencing optimal wellness.

My Experience

My time as a military clinical psychologist and Army Officer gained me in-depth experience in the assessment and treatment of soldiers with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). I also delivered regular trainings to soldiers and medical providers on the management of suicide and combat stress reaction. A most rewarding experience for me was training over 200 soldiers and medical providers on Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). Given my training and experience in the Army, I am one of the few psychologists in the metropolitan D.C. area trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy for the treatment of PTSD.

Since moving to D.C. in 2011, I've played a significant role in contributing to local military training programs on topics concerning suicide prevention, key issues related to military families, and healthcare provider sustainment. In my private practice, I have provided neuropsychological, personality, and ADHD assessment in addition to individual psychotherapy to a variety of clientele including adults, adolescents, service members, and veterans. Additionally, I've treated individuals with depressive and mood disorders, bereavement, relationship problems, eating disorders, adjustment and phase of life concerns, anger management, and chronic pain. Though I continue treat patients with such diagnoses, I now focus much of my efforts on treatment for anxiety disorders such as specific and general phobias, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and PTSD.

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is considered one of the "gold standard" treatments to address a variety of behavioral health conditions. CBT is a time-limited, goal-focused treatment that lends itself well to sustained improvement for a variety of mood and anxiety disorders. I primarily work from the CBT modality as I have found this to be most effective in helping my clients find sustained relief from their symptoms.

I promise you nothing is as chaotic as it seems. Nothing is worth diminishing your health. Nothing is worth poisoning yourself into stress, anxiety, and fear.
